Family Owned & Operated

FirstMate has been family owned and operated since they began back in 1989. They started out making fish food, which gives their foods a unique taste that dog and cats love.

High Protein

FirstMate recipes derive 60-98% of their protein from animal sources, making their foods palatable and nutritious. Their protein meals contain whole muscle meat, skin, and bone, with nothing else added.

High Kcals

FirstMate has some of the highest Kcals of any brand we carry at InstaBark. A Kcal is a scientific term for calories. Per cup FirstMate recipes are between 475-550 Kcals/cup. These numbers are some of the highest Kcals we carry.

Made at Their Facility

FirstMate is headquartered in Canada and makes all of their products in and around Vancouver in two facilities. Owning and operating the entire production process allows them to have high levels of safety and quality.
